SixTwelve is throwing a Cake Walk/Bake Off to raise funds for our community kitchen! This kitchen will provide a space for local chefs to give cooking classes for kids & adults, for community meal prep and food for events. This fun event takes place the day before Easter, so winners could take home a delicious delicious family desert!
Here's how it works! Everyone who wants to enter the Bake Off should bake a cake and follow these requirements:
- All cakes, cupcakes and brownies should be at least 85% from scratch and you must bring a tasting bite large enough for four bites (one bite per judge).
- All bakers should bring a printed copy of their recipe to the judging.
- Register in advance (You must register in advance).
- Cakes, Cupcakes (at least one dozen) and brownies (one full pan) are accepted.
After tasting each creation, judges will select first, second and third place winners to be auctioned at the end of the event. All other cakes will be given as prizes to cake walk winners! We will have as many rounds of cake walks a we have cakes.
Our judges include SixTwelve Founder and Executive Director, Amy Young, Scotty Irani of In the Kitchen With Scotty, Allison Dake of Brown Egg Bakery and Chad Whitehead and Chelsea Banks of AS TOLD BY: OKC! The winner of the "Bake Off" will have their recipe posted on the In the Kitchen With Scotty website and also on the Edible OKC Magazine website! Scotty will also give mention to the winner on his weekly Tuesday morning cooking segment of "Rise and Shine" on Freedom 43 TV!
The Cake Walk will equal hilarious fun! Imagine a walking version of musical chairs. Each participant (you do not have to bake a cake to participate) can enter a round for $2 chances and whoever wins receives a cake!
Prizes to be announced soon!
