Denise Duong, oklahoma city (traveled to Savannah, GA)

Denise Duong, an Oklahoma artist, known for her whimsical yet very deep subject matter, for large murals she’s painted all over the world and for Little D Gallery in the Paseo Arts District, was our very first SixTwelve Resident in 2015. She travelled to Savannah, Georgia to paint a new body of work, inspired by the lush canopy of trees, beaches, marshlands and the largest historic district of architecture in the United States. During her time in Savannah, Denise not only painted works that would then be shown at Iocovozzi Gallery and other galleries, she made friends and connections that are still in place today. We are grateful for all that Denise has given to SixTwelve during and since her residency. She set a very high bar for other Oklahoma artists who travel to our sister city in Georgia.
